Goal Setting
A goal needs to be measurable over time. When you set your weight loss goals, did you set a time in which you would like to reach your goal weight? A date works best. Maybe a holiday, anniversary or special event could be your final date. When that is done, it is important to break it down into smaller increments, maybe weekly or monthly, so you have a measurement to show you are on track. Are you achieving your short term goals? Are they realistic? One to two pounds a week is about what a human can expect to lose even with diligence and hard work. Some weeks may be more, some less, but that is a solid guideline.
When setting your mind toward a goal, it is important to note that there may be some wins and challenges. This is to be expected. When you encounter a challenge, know that if you follow your system and continue to move in the direction of your goal, you will get there! The most successful people in the world experienced challenges in achieving their goals. What set them apart and made them truly great was their persistence.
When you have a clearly established system, support and a vision, the need for constant motivation disappears. Motivation feels good and can push us ahead, but just like balancing your checkbook, running your household or your responsibilities at work, you don't need to have motivation to do these things you just do them.
